Forum Rules: Please introduce yourself in your very first post to D1scussion.

Since D1scussion is around a while and the average subscribed member stays in average subscribed for 6 years, 9 months, 3 weeks and 3 days, you will be the newbie here. Please make sure your first post to D1scussion includes a short introduction about yourself and your interest and/or involvement with Nikon DSLR cameras and photography. After sending your first post with your introduction, please allow for 24-48h to review it until you will see your message in D1scussion.
If you passed this initial requirement, you will be free to post without any moderation.

Forum Rules: Don't abuse D1scussion.

Don't use D1scussion for flames (hostile messages directed at another individual) or other personal attacks. If you have a problem with another member, please consult with Juergen Specht directly and take the issue off D1scussion. Healthy discussion and debate is welcomed; personal attacks are not.

Distribution of spam, company advertisements, chain letters, test emails and virus warnings is not permitted.

No sales: This forum is advertisement free and only founded to exchange information between forum members. Information can be invaluable, so please don't try to make any additional money in this forum by trying to sell anything, private or commercial, to forum members.

Any email that could be construed as spam or unsolicited advertising will result in the member being immediately unregistered.

Forum Rules: Stay on topic and avoid Off Topic posts.

The topic of D1scussion are Nikon DSLR cameras and all directly related topics as software, hardware, lenses, flashes and accessoires. Comparing other brands with Nikon DSLRs is permitted as long as there is any direct relation to Nikon DSLR cameras.

Off Topic posts detoriate the usefulness and collected expertise of this forum, so please avoid all Off Topic posts. In case you think an Off Topic mail is necessary or interesting for the members, consult in doubt first with Juergen Specht or post it by inserting an additional "OT" (for Off Topic) in front of the subject line.

Forum Rules: Don't send HTML mails or attachments to the forum.

If you normally send out HTML (or Rich Text Mails, ie. the colorful ones) mail, please change your setting for the forum address to PLAIN TEXT only, as this forum will for technical reasons reject all HTML mails and attachments. To participate by email, please use the lowest common denominator in your email client: PLAIN TEXT.
Check this site for helpful tips on How to change your email client to plain text.

If you have problems to change your email client, please use D1scussion's web interface to post your messages.

Forum Rules: Please always use a useful subject line in your posts.

A common mistake is to forget or ignore the subject field while posting, even though the first thing people read is the subject line. Make sure you write a short summary of what the post is about. A useful subject line such as "Help needed to switch Nikon D3x to continous autofocus" is more likely to get a response than just "Help". A blank subject line will be rejected by D1scussion. Please do not change the subject line if you are continuing the same discussion, unless the thread has moved to a new topic. Referencing the old subject, eg. "New Nikon DSLR (was: Nikon Capture will not open NEF file)", will remind forum members your message continues an earlier discussion.

Forum Rules: Don't quote complete messages.

If you are replying to a D1scussion forum mail, please don't quote the complete mail of the original poster. Quote only the relevant sentence or paragraph in order to understand your reply in the right context following international standards as in this example:

> The relevant part should be quoted to
> seamlessly continue the discussion

You are right, and the redundant part should be
removed for a good flow of the discussion.
